Empowering Workplace Vitality Hub

The Workplace Vitality Hub, located at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, is a dynamic environment where companies, researchers, and students collaborate on innovations that contribute to employee vitality and productivity. The hub is a unique partnership where new technologies and insights are tested and further developed. The aim is to make people healthier, more productive and satisfied at work, supported by data-driven research and innovative tools.

Employees and students actively use the wireless charging facilities available in the workplaces. This not only contributes to convenience and productivity, but also provides valuable insights into workplace usage and behaviour. Combining wireless charging with data on workplace occupancy and other functionalities shows the potential of technology to optimise the building-human interface.

Within the Workplace Vitality Hub, we are exploring how to improve workplaces and increase employee vitality. Here, the focus is on two key innovations: wireless charging and measuring workplace occupancy. Wireless charging increases convenience and supports flexible working, which is the norm these days. Workstation occupancy is highest on Wednesdays and Thursdays, where students are actively invited to participate in plenary sessions and use the available facilities. By having a good understanding of occupancy rates, workstations and/or fall-back options can be anticipated. On Mondays and Fridays, there is usually more than enough space available, with users quickly finding available spots. These measures aim to reduce stress by supporting a better-organised working environment and flexible use of workstations.
